_MG_6890The evening of 25th of September during the UN General Assembly week brought together MY World friends from far and near, in person and via live web-stream – and these MY World friends had 5 million reasons to celebrate!

The hard work of dedicated MY World partners brought the voices of 5 MILLION PEOPLE from 194 countries into the United Nations.  MY World has had very extensive support from a range of partners, over 700 organizations, including NGOs, heads of state, faith groups and youth movements who are still currently participating in its roll out and this collective achievement provides the perfect backdrop for a MY World Partner Recognition Event and MY World Award Ceremony which took place in New York during the UN General Assembly week.

This global survey, thanks to the dedication and enthusiasm of all is now the largest survey of its kind ever undertaken.

Youth Revolution Clan (YRC), based in Lahore Pakistan, is a platform for young people to serve their communities. The organization works with the objective of serving the community by capacity building, by generating an environment to bring a change in attitude & behavior for the community so the existing socio condition paves way to new era, and by organizing counseling sessions for adolescents and youth as well.

YRC has committed to raising more than one million votes from Pakistan. YRC has been working hard by day and by night to achieve the target by October 2014 with Innovative and creative ideas under the Leadership of Mr. Rizwan Anwar Chairman YRC.

YRC continued to collect votes on the biggest Muslim religious festival called “Eid.” YRC distributed 5000+ Eid Greeting cards with My World Survey Ballot paper and collected more than 4000 offline votes  through this method.

Pakistani Youth Commit One Million Votes During Visit from UNSG’s Envoy on Youth

Tuesday, June 17, 2014 – Islamabad

Over 300 young Pakistani youth representatives from all over Pakistan gathered on Tuesday at a youth forum to meet and launch the My World Survey with the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth,  Ahmad Alhendawi.

Young boys and girls from different social backgrounds interacted with the Youth Envoy and shared their views and perspectives about their challenges and aims with regards to access to education, skill development, employment, sexual and reproductive health and to their participation in policy making and peace building in the country.

Chairman of Youth Revolution Clan, Rizwan Anwar noted that “Pakistan’s biggest asset is its youth; we are becoming a youth partner in the development agenda and we are committing to raise more than one million votes for the MY World Survey with as many people as possible: citizens of all ages, genders and backgrounds, and particularly the world’s poor and marginalized communities.” He continued “with more than 2000 youth ambassadors, Youth Revolution Clan will be working with civil societies, youth organizations, universities, colleges and government sectors to mark the difference.” He specially thanked Mr. Ravi Karkara, UN Global Advisor on youth & children for his continuous guidance, support and motivation to launch the campaign in Pakistan that has been in planning for the last nine months.
