140 Youths #Act4SDGs in Bandar Seri Begawan

On 26th of August, Bandar Seri Begawan saw nearly 140 volunteers who braved the morning heat in a collective effort to #leavenoonebehind.

The first batch of volunteers to get dispatched

This event was organized by MY Action For SDGs, a campaign led by the ASEAN MY World 2030 Advocate from Brunei, Nurul Hadina Binti Haji Alias, which aims to raise awareness of the global goals among all strata of society, particularly the youth and children who will inherit the 2030 Agenda.

The day started as early as 5.30 am to set up the booth, together with Reef Check Brunei with a mixture of fun SDG-related games, icon colouring contests for children and a “Save The Turtles” obstacle game to support Goal 14 – Life Below Water.

Simultaneously, groups of volunteers were dispatched to different areas such as the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex, Sungkai Kedayan Eco-Corridor, The Royal Wharf and the Royal Regalia Museum. More than 100 ASEAN MY World 2030 survey votes were collected by the volunteers during BandarKu Ceria, a car-free initiative every Sunday morning at the capital to promote a healthy lifestyle where families can enjoy recreational activities.

By including youth participation both in the campaign and the votes, we hope that young people can have a sense of ownership and play their part in the collective endeavor to achieve a more sustainable world.
